Mrs. Leo Resewehr nee Caroline Portewig was born February 13, 1905 at Stanwood, Iowa, daughter of Louis and Rose Portewig, nee Von Behren.

On March 6, 1924 she was married to Leo Resewehr and this union was blessed with three children.

Mrs. Resewehr passed away on Sunday, September 29th, 1957, having reached the age of 52 years, 7 months and 16 days. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical & Reformed Church, the Women's Guild, King's Daughters Circle, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She resided in the Clarence Community for the last 26 years.

Survivors are her husband; one son, William of Clarence; two daughters, Darlene--Mrs. Leland Williams of Mechanicsville and Carol of the home; two grand sons; her mother, Mrs. Rose Portewig of Stanwood; three brothers, Henry and Paul Portewig of Stanwood and Ernest Portewig of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Carl.

Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2nd, 1957, with Rev. Edward J. Bowers conducting. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet with Arlynn Kintzel as organist. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. E. C. Freese, Mrs. Lavern Bergmann and Mrs. Chester Ibsen. Pallbearers: E. C. Freese, Lavern Bergmann, Ernest Wulff, George Meier and Richard Dircks.

Interment was made at St. John's Cemetery.
