21 April 1932 - The Tipton Advertiser

Gladys Elizabeth Frederick was born near Cedar Bluff, Iowa, Dec. 11, 1901. She with the family moved to Arlington, Iowa, the following February. Here she received her education, graduating from the public high school with the class of 1919, later attending Upper Iowa University after which she followed her profession as teacher in the county schools for several years.

At the age of fourteen years she united with the church of Christ. She was united in marriage March 27, 1926 with Arthur Eckley of Cedar Rapids. About four years ago she underwent a serious operation from which she never fully recovered. She submitted to a second operation last Tuesday morning April 12. The battle was too strong for her weak life to conquer. She passed away the next morning at three o'clock, her husband being with her at this time. She leaves to mourn her loss, the husband, her seventeen months old daughter, Patricia Ann, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. George Frederick of Arlington.
