8 March 1912 - The Lowden News

William G. Kruckenberg died at his home 5 1/2 miles northwest of Lowden, Tuesday morning, March 5th, at 8:15 o'clock, of acute Bright's disease, at the age of 36 years, 8 months and 26 days. He had been severely sick for about 10 days.

Mr. Kruckenberg was born on June 8, 1875, at the same old home place where he died, and this place has always been his home. When he was old enough to work he worked for his parents and after his mother died on Feb. 12, 1901, he kept on working for his father, but a few years later he bought the farm of his father. His father, Henry Kruckenberg, died Oct. 21, 1908.

On Sept. 5, 1901, W. G. Kruckenberg was married to Miss Dorethea Mente, his now sorrowing widow, who now with their four children, three sons and one daughter, and five sisters and one brother of the deceased and many other near relatives mourn his untimely demise. All here sympathize deeply with the bereaved family.

Deceased was an industrious and successful farmer, a kind and loving husband, father and brother, a friendly neighbor and a good citizen. The vacancy caused by his death will be severely felt by his family, relatives and friends.

Funeral occurred today at 10:30 from the house with services at the Lutheran church at Lowden, and interment in the Lowden cemetery. Rev. J. H. Brammer conducted the services. There was a very large attendance at the funeral. The services were very impressive. The pastor eulogized the departed as having been a faithful Christian, who quietly but happily attended to his every day duties, and lovingly looked after the welfare of his family.

There were several very beautiful floral pieces at the casket.
