Jonas Norman Davis, 81, a lifelong resident of Cedar County died Saturday night, March 2, 1957, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Beck near Cedar Bluffs.

He was born June 16th, 1875 at Massillon, Iowa and on March 8, 1897 he was united in marriage with Helen Frink and they made their home in Clarence their entire married life until her death in 1932. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by one son Raymond, three sisters, Amanda (Mrs. Wesley Brink), May (Mrs. Tom Brink), and Frances Woods and one brother George.

He is survived by six children: Mrs. Beulah Marquette of Montanque, Mich.; Paul Davis, Whitehall, Mich.; Carlton Davis, Olin; Louis Davis, Hampton, Virginia; Lucy Lawrence, Tipton; and Gertrude Beck, Cedar Bluffs, and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Tuesday, March 5, 1957, at 2 p.m. at the Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, Iowa, with Elder U. J. Fike officiating.

Interment was at the Clarence Cemetery.
