Julius H. Bergmann was born April 30, 1891 in Springfield Township, Cedar County, Iowa; son of Dietrich and Sophia Reinking Bergmann.

He was baptized in infancy and confirmed at Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, Lowden, Iowa.

On October 28, 1915 he was married to Anna Gehrls.

Mr. Bergmann passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 19th, 1957, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, having reached the age of 65 years, 9 months and 19 days.

He was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Clarence, Iowa.

His entire life was spent in the Clarence community. Mr. Bergmann farmed south of Clarence until March 1948 when they moved to town.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, one brother, Elmer Bergmann, Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Rix and Helen Pruess and one brother George Bergmann.

Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Clarence on Friday, Feb. 22, 1957, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Edward J. Bowers officiating. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet with Arlynn Kintzel as organist. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Leroy Gade, Mrs. John Paul and Mrs. William Rix. Pallbearers were Fred Miller, Alfred Pruess, John Paul, Harold Muesing, James Ward and Richard Ebers.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery.
