Mrs. D. Veva Paine Christianson was born June 4, 1883 at Clarence, Iowa. She was the daughter of J. Addison and Genevieve Flansburg.

She was a teacher for many years, having taught at Boone, Glidden, Hampton, Stanwood and Clarence. For 5 years she was the Ticket Clerk for the Chicago & North Western Railway at Mason City.

She was married to Christian B. Christianson at Owatonna, Minn. on April 4, 1922. Mr. Christianson passed away on March 17, 1936.

Mrs. Christianson was a member of the First Methodist Church and a life member of the Eastern Star, and White Shrine, all of Mason City.

She came to Cedar Rapids in 1949 to make her home with her cousin, Jessie Belle Delamater, 1418 8th Ave. S.E.

Mrs. Christianson died in a Cedar Rapids hospital July 8, 1959. An only brother, Joseph Earl Flansburg, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her only son, Gilbert J. Christianson and two grandchildren, Barbara and James Christianson.

Services were held Saturday, July 11th, 1959, in the Major Funeral Home at Mason City. Burial was in Memorial Park.
