Clarence Shelly Stonerook was born at Clarence on August 27, 1904 to Orba Alvin Stonerook and Rae Fell Stonerook. He passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 28, 1959 at the age of 54 years , 7 months and 1 day.

On October 15, 1924 he was united in marriage to Beatrice Easterly. He is survived by his wife Beatrice, and one son, Ellis of Clarence, and two daughters, Sally Higgins of Bennett and Mary Burrows of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Clarence became a member of the Methodist Church at the age of 15, remaining as a member at Clarence all of his life.

He was a man that was respected in the community and so it was only natural that when word of his death came, the entire community was shocked. The visits and the words of so many stand as a silent testimony to this fact.

Funeral services were held at the Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 1959, being conducted by Rev. Cyril Ashton. The music was furnished by Mrs. Robert Joslin at the organ.

Interment was made in the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton.
