On Monday evening, Sept. 23, at about 11:30 o'clock death entered the home of Henry Boedeker Sr. and family when the faithful and loving mother was peacefully taken away into the dwelling place of the Most High.

Minnie Boedeker, nee Debner, was born on October 10, 1857, in Estorf, Hannover, Germany. When she was 21 years of age she was united in marriage to Henry Boedeker on June 30, 1878. After having lived in Germany for four years after their marriage they came to America to make their home. In Germany three children were born to this union, two having died there and one son crossed the ocean with them to America. They first landed at Lowden and have always lived in the neighborhood of Lowden and at one time near Clarence.

In 1903 Mr. and Mrs. Boedeker were allowed to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary with their children, friends and relatives.

For a number of years deceased had been failing in health, suffering considerable with stomach trouble. About two years ago she consented and went to Rochester, Minn., and gave in to an operation which proved to be a serious one, but with much suffering and pain recovered from same. It was hoped to be a sure and complete recovery but the same trouble once more set in about six months ago. She again went with her husband to Rochester, Minn., hoping to find a sure betterment but all of no avail. She peacefully passed away at her home here to the land free from cares and sorrows Monday evening. She attained the age of 54 years, 11 months and 13 days.

Deceased was a loving wife and mother, a kind and friendly lady. She was a true Christian and was a faithful member, with her husband, of the Evangelical church.

There survive Mrs. Boedeker to mourn her departure her husband, four sons, three daughters, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, one brother and many other near relatives and friends.

Funeral was held yesterday afternoon with services at the Evangelical church, where a great many relatives and friends had appeared to bid to the departed the last farewell. Rev. Werning conducted the services which were very impressive and condoling. There were several beautiful floral pieces brought to the casket as a last token of love and respect. The pallbearers were John Stoecker, Kossuth Pauls, Chas. Kreinbring, Chas. Dehne, Fred Richmann and Conrad Miller, and they laid Mrs. Boedeker to rest in the Lowden cemetery. May she rest in peace.
