Walter John Fehling was born January 7, 1896 at Clarence, Iowa, son of Christ and Elizabeth Fehling, nee Kahl.

In 1919 he was married to Martha Conrad who passed away in 1934.

On February 23rd, 1939 he was married to Leora Kleppe.

Mr. Fehling passed away on Tuesday, March 10th, 1959 having reached the age of 63 years, 2 months and 3 days. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical & Reformed Church. His lifetime was spent in this community

Surviving are his wife, Leora; one son, Richard, a sister, Mrs. Henry Hasenbank of Clarence and a brother, William Fehling of Lowden.

In addition to his wife Martha, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Ida Fehling, who died in infancy, Alma Hasenbank and Martha Klatt.

Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Clarence at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13th, 1959, with the service being conducted by Rev. Edward J. Bowers. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet with Diane Bergmann the organist. In charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Henry Struck and Mrs. Melvin Mowry. Pallbearers were: Harold Fehling, Raymond Hasenbank, Wilbur Conrad, Elwood Hasenbank, Raymond Conrad and Lawrence Conrad.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery.
