Washington D.C. -- George Clyde Hoover, 65, a cousin of President Hoover, died at his home here Saturday night from a cerebral hemorrhage. Hoover was an attorney in the valuation bureau of the Interstate commerce commission, coming here from West Branch, Ia., several years ago to accept the position. Announcement of his death was made at the White House at midnight by Dr. Del T. Boone, the White House physician.

Hoover was stricken Thursday. He was a native of West Branch, the birthplace of President Hoover.

The family plans to take the body to West Branch for burial.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Hoover, a son, Claude, of this city, and a daughter, Mrs. Ellen Yoder of West Branch. Des Moines Register March 14th

Atty. George C. Hoover was widely and favorably known to Cedar county and eastern Iowa, having practiced law in this community for several years, and having served for a time as mayor of the town of West Branch. His genial nature and Christian character endeared him to all who knew him, and his passing comes as a severe shock to the entire community.

Geo. C. Hoover was the son of Benajah and Ellen Hoover, and was the last of his immediate family.

Funeral services were conducted at the church in West Branch, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Green officiating and the Masonic Lodge having charge of the services at the grave with A.M. McCormick of Tipton giving the Masonic burial rites. A large aggregation of friends and relatives were in attendance to pay last tribute of love and respects to one held in high esteem by the community.
