23 October 1958 - The Clarence Sun

Frank Vincent Yock, son of Charles and Martha Curley Yock, was born at West Union, Iowa October 4, 1886. As a baby he was brought to the Clarence community attending its schools and growing up in the town of Clarence.

For a number of years he worked in the butcher shop of E. C. Dean.

On June 6, 1911, he was united in marriage with Margaret Bauman. To them were born five children, four of whom survive, Robert Yock, Reva and Hazel Von Muenster of Clarence and Lois Hartig of Tipton.

The family spent nearly 20 years in Ida county near Cushing and Holstein. Mrs. Yock passed away in 1939. In 1950 their father brought his family back to Clarence where he found work in the locker plant, and kept them together until the children established homes of their own. Mr. Yock's last steady employment was with Grover Penningroth.

He made his home with his daughters Reva and Hazel Von Muenster during his declining years.

He will always be remembered for his fair minded, genial, kindly attitude toward all he met. Mr. Yock was a member of the Methodist Church at Cushing. For many years he was also a member of Mt. Hope Lodge of Clarence.

The slow action of arterio sclerosis brought an end of Mr. Yock's life on the morning of October 17, after having reached the age of 72 years and 13 days.

Besides his immediate family, their children he leaves two brothers Chas of Cherokee, Iowa and Loren of Winfield, Kansas.

Funeral services were held at the Chapman Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 1958, with Gordon Smith conducting the service. Mt. Hope Lodge A.F.A.M. were also in attendance in a body. The music was furnished by Mrs. Anna Klatt and Mrs. Arthur Claney with Dorothy Ashton as the organist. The pallbearers were Frank Miller, Grover Penningroth, Fred Hoffner, Raymond Stange, Elmer Meyer and Harold Dewell.

He was laid to rest by his wife in the Clarence cemetery.
