Howard Kirkpatrick, son of Elwood and Lucy Vaugh Kirkpatrick, was born near Clarence, Iowa on August 1st, 1891 and died at his home, after a lingering illness on Sunday, July 20th, 1958, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 19 days.

He was married to Grace Nauman October 6th, 1915 and they resided on their farm during the 42 years of married life.

They received into their home two boys Ronald Dean at the age of four weeks and John William at six weeks of age.

He was a member of the Dayton Valley Wesleyan Methodist Church since he was nine years of age.

Mr. Kirkpatrick was a good husband, father, brother and neighbor.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, four grandchildren, one brother, Elwood of Clarence, one sister, Mrs. Frank Hovey of Coon Rapids, Iowa and a number of relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held from the Dayton Valley Church Wednesday, July 23rd, 1958, at 2 p.m. with clergymen Rev. Clarence Boudensiek and Rev. Elsie Stephens in charge. The music was furnished by Mrs. Fred Sacora and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen with Lyle Jeffery as the pianist. In charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Harry Feddersen and Mrs. Irvin Resewehr. Pallbearers were James Irons, Oscar Dethmann, Harry Feddersen, Fred Sacora, Lee Freeman and Robert Kelly.

Burial was made in the Dayton Valley Cemetery.
