Miss Helen R. Shriver, a longtime resident of the Tipton community and a person know by the many folks she served during her lifetime, passed away last week at the age of 75 years and 4 months.

Miss Schriver was born in Tipton on February 17, 1883, and was graduated from the Tipton high school.

She taught country school in the Tipton area for several years, and when her brother became ill, took over his rural mail route for several years. She was Cedar County Recorder from 1929-1943, employed at the City National Bank in Tipton and at the Clarence Savings Bank, was the Tipton public librarian for a while and from 1943-1948 was employed in the Yuma, Ariz., post office. She was hurt in a car accident in Arizona in 1948 and had been in failing health since.

Her only survivor is a niece, Mrs. Ed Liercke of Tipton.

Funeral services were held at Tipton on Saturday, June 21st, and burial was made in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
