John Lloyd Bixler was born at Clarence, Iowa on August 10, 1910 to Mr. and Mrs. George Bixler,

John spent his entire life in the Clarence community helping his folks on their farm north of Clarence and since their retirement to town, he continued to run the farm. He received his education in the Clarence school, graduating in 1928.

On April 25, 1954 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Hipshur, and to this union one son was born.

John was a member of Mt. Hope Masonic Lodge of Clarence and of the Methodist Church.

John passed away unexpectedly at his farm home on Monday, June 23, 1958 at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 4 days.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Elizabeth, his son Andrew Wilson, his aged parents Mr. and Mrs. George Bixler, and two brothers, Milo Bixler of North Canton, Ohio and Elmer Bixler of Olin, also many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Clarence at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25th, 1958 with Rev. Cyril Ashton conducting the service. The music was furnished by a male quartet who sang "Abide With Me" and "Nearer the Cross" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Howard Folk. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Douglas Cashman and Mrs. Richard Weatherwax. The pallbearers were: Irvin Kintzel, Lester Kelly, Harold Dewell, Douglas Cashman, Myrl Sylvester and Roger Baldwin.

Interment was made at the Clarence cemetery.
