Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Louis L. Ralston, 83, were held Monday at the Morgan Funeral home, Mt. Vernon. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery with Rev. Aleck Ulmet officiating.

Mr. Ralston, a former Mechanicsville resident, died in a fall at his Cedar Rapids home July 8.

He was born Feb. 9, 1888, in Jackson county, the son of Elam and Lenore Webster Ralston and attended country schools. He lived in Mechanicsville from 1954 until moving back to Cedar Rapids a year ago. Mr. Ralston was a stationary engineer at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, for 45 years until he retired. He was a member of the Church of Nazarene, Cedar Rapids.

Oct. 10, 1912, at Cedar Rapids he married Ada Pieper, who survives. Other survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Mary Sublette, Tipton; Mrs. Lois E. Wood, Marion, and Mrs. Maxine Tarlton, Wadesboro, N.C.; 3 sons, Leon D., Hot Springs, S.D.; Louis T. Birmingham, Mich.; and William A. Dearborn Heights, Mich.; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

His parents, a brother, sister and a daughter preceded him in death.
