Mrs. Edith Cain, well known resident of Stanwood community, shot and fatally wounded herself Wednesday night last week at her farm home. Coroner A. M. McCormick of Tipton said Mrs. Cain, 38, died early Friday in a hospital at Cedar Rapids. Surviving besides the husband, John C. Cain, she leaves three children, and her father, Grant Hegarty of Stanwood. Coroner McCormick reported Mrs. Cain had been in ill health and was despondent.
