Last rites for George Leonard Houle, 68, Mechanicsville farmer and former airlines pilot, were held at the Morgan funeral home in Lisbon, March 6 with the Rev. James Nelson of Mechanicsville officiating. Burial was in Acton cemetery at Acton, Ind.

Mr. Houle died at his farm home southeast of Mechanicsville March 1. His body was found March 3.

The son of James C. and Rhoda Clapp Houle, he was born at Lost Nation Jan. 25, 1903 and graduated from Lost Nation high school. He attended Iowa State college for 2 years.

After receiving flight training with the US Army Air Corps he became a pilot for Trans World Airlines, retiring and moving to the farm near Mechanicsville in 1959.

He was married to Helen Hensley in Beech Grove, Ind. She died in 1955.

He was a member of the United Methodist church.

Mr. Houle is survived by a brother, Harold, College Park, Md.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Gregg Hellesoe, Ben Lomond, Calif.; Mrs. Jack McFadden, Renton, Wash. and Mrs. George Kallenberger, Bellevue, Wash. He was preceded in death by a brother, James and a sister, Elsie.
