Funeral services for Emil F. Dettmann, 78, Mechanicsville, formerly of Cedar Rapids, were held at 1 p.m. in the Chapman Funeral home, Clarence, Jan. 11, with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Mr. Dettmann was born Aug. 2, 1892 at Clarence and died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City on Jan. 7. He had lived in the Mechanicsville area a number of years and then moved to Cedar Rapids.

Survivors are a son, Melvyn, Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Juanita Pfettscher, Evansville, Ind.; 6 grandchildren, a sister Mrs. John Pfettscher, Tipton, and a brother, Alfred Dettman.
