Clarence - Funeral services for Jurgen Rathmann, 84, were held Jan. 2 in the Chapman Funeral home with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher in charge. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch provided the music. Pallbearers were Edwin Gadke, August Schroeder, Otto Frey, Herman Schwien, Siegfried Petersen and Herman Dethmann. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Mr. Rathmann died at his home Dec. 31. He was born Sept. 1, 1886 at Flensburg, Germany. On Sept. 12, 1909 he was married to Johanna Carlsen in Germany. He had lived in the Clarence area for 25 years.

Survivors are his wife, a son, John of Oxford Junction; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
