Funeral services for Elmer Hans Peter Hennings, 67, will be held today (Thursday, Jan. 7) at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers are Leonard Voss, Roy Tevis, John Zaruba, Folmer Jensen, Albert Strefling and Ronald Luikart. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Carroll and Mrs. Ronald Luikart are in charge of flowers. Terri Thompson is vocalist and Mrs. Irma Crawford is organist.

Mr. Hennings died at his home in Tipton Jan. 4. Death was unexpected, although he had a heart ailment.

The son of William and Catherine Petersen Hennings, he was born near Tipton Aug. 29, 1903 and received his education in the rural schools of Cedar county.

He was married twice, the first time in 1925 and following her death to Zella M. Griffis Greves at Cedar Rapids Jan. 15, 1958.

He farmed for many years in the Tipton area and moved to Tipton on his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Donald, Olin; 3 grandchildren, a brother, Arnold, Tipton; a sister, Mrs. Leota Connor, West Liberty; 2 step-sons, Clyde Greves, Cedar Falls and Keith Greves, Cedar Rapids and a step-daughter, Mrs. Harold (Louise) Clark, Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, 2 sisters and a twin brother.
