Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Laurence Stabenow, 62, were held in the United Methodist church July 12. The Rev. James Nelson officiated at the service. Leo Frederick was vocalist.

Harold Fisher, Raymond Fisher, John D. Scott, James Gray, Roger Gray and Don Biedenbach were pallbearers. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. The Horner Funeral home service was in charge.

Mr. Stabenow died in Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, July 9.

Laurence Samuel Stabenow was born Nov. 20, 1909 at Mechanicsville the son of Oscar Howard and Margaret Elizabeth Drach Stabenow. He was married Sept. 27, 1931 in Cedar Rapids to Margaret Spangler. They farmed in the Mechanicsville and Lisbon area.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; a son, Clair and a sister, Mrs. Frank Klinkkammer, Stanwood. He was preceded in death by his twin brother.
