Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Lila Bee Johnson, 82, Mechanicsville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. March 9 in the United Methodist church at Mechanicsville with the Rev. Nelson officiating. Mrs. Calvin Robinson will be organist and pallbearers will be J. Edward Crock, James Cruse, Don Puffer, Keith Conner, Joe Gamble and Lester Nicoll. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson died March 6 at a Tipton Nursing Home following a lingering illness. She was born Nov. 2, 1889 at Lake City to Merton Ryle Hayclen and Olive Julianna Stevens. She attended school in Sac City and taught in schools there for 3 years. She was married to Graydon W. Johnson, high school principal at Sac City, Nov. 30, 1912 and they moved to Mechanicsville where they farmed. She was a member of the United Methodist church, the Evangeline Chapter of Eastern Star, Past Matrons, Kozy Korner Klub and Woman's club.

Survivors include 2 sons, Forest W. of Mechanicsville and Robert H. of San Antonio, Texas, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Highland, Sac City and 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, 22 years ago, an infant daughter, Nelda Elizabeth, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Hayes.
