Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Mae Young, 74, were held at the United Methodist church, Mechanicsville Feb. 11 with the Rev. James Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Lisbon cemetery. The Morgan funeral home at Lisbon was in charge.

Pallbearers were Richard Zenishek, William Koch, Norman Williams, Clair Williams, Varlyn Beck and Robert Wright.

Mrs. Young died at her home in Mechanicsville Feb. 9.

The daughter of Fred and Mabel Deck Fisher, she was born at Lisbon Aug. 30, 1897 and attended country schools.

She was married to Charles Young Feb. 1, 1922 and spent most of her life in the Mechanicsville area. She was a member of the United Methodist church, the Pollyannas and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Harold Fisher, Mechanicsville and Virgil Fisher, Olin; 2 sisters, Harmolene Fisher, Mechanicsville and Mrs. Gladys Ward, Marion. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963 and by a sister, Bernice.
