Funeral services for Laura Pearl Vanderbilt, 85, were held Dec. 30 in the Mechanicsville United Methodist church with the Rev. Norman Lawton officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Gorman, Casper, Quentin, Calvin, Victor and Narvis Robinson were pallbearers. Horner Funeral service in charge.

Mrs. Vanderbilt died unexpectedly in her home Dec. 28.

Laura Pearl Vanderbilt, the daughter of Adam and Liddy Kohl Krumroy was born Aug. 13, 1886, near Mechanicsville. She was educated in the Hazel Hill country school.

She was married to Arthur Vanderbilt at Anamosa Jan. 29, 1908. They farmed north of Mechanicsville until retiring and moving to Mechanicsville in October, 1952. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Mrs. Vanderbilt is survived by her husband, Arthur and an adopted son, Burdell Humbert, Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers, Mrs. Clementina Humbert, Mrs. Gertrude Minish, Mrs. Ida Kohl, Mrs. Grace Hempey and Frank, Edward and Kenneth Krumroy.
