9 August 1945 - The Tipton Advertiser

Another of the Cedar county men of pioneer stock passed from this community Friday evening in the death of Wm. Busching of Stanwood. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon from St. Paul's Lutheran church, the Rev. E. F. Hempel officiating. Interment was in the Stanwood cemetery.

He had attained the age of 82 years, 11 months and 12 days. Those mourning his departure are his three sons, Paul of Clarence, Henry of the Tipton vicinity, and Edwin northeast of Stanwood; one daughter, Eloise, at home; three daughters-in-law, as well as two grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

He was born Aug. 21, 1862, at Nendorf, Germany. His parents were Carl Busching and Caroline nee Berghorn. Oct. 12th of the same year he was baptized and at the age of 13 he was confirmed in the Lutheran church. Aug. 6, 1888, he came with his nephew, the late Fred Haesemeyer, to Clarence. Feb. 5th, 1892 he was united in marriage with Miss Sophia Ernsting of Lowden. Last February his beloved wife departed this life. Four children have also preceded him in death.
