Thomas W. Agnew was born in Pennsylvania on June 17, 1846. He died in a Cedar Rapids hospital on July 3, 1910, of kidney trouble. His death came as a sad shock to his many friends in Cedar county.

Deceased came to Iowa with his parents in 1866 and settled upon farm in Inland township, Cedar county, where he resided until Mar. 1st, 1910, when he quit farming in Inland twp. and purchased and moved onto a fruit farm near Marion, Iowa.

In 1873 Mr. Agnew was united in marriage to Miss Alice Seyler. To them were born six children namely, Elmer Agnew of near Lowden, Arthur and Miss Idell, who have made their home with their parents, Walter of Bennett, Mrs. D. N. Kellogg and Mrs. Frank Williams of Capa, S. D. These six children and the sorrowing widow, Mrs. Alice Agnew, mourns his demise.

His old neighbors and friends met his remains Wednesday morning at ten o'clock at Bennett, Iowa, where he was taken to the M. E. church, where services were held by Rev. Lee of Bennett, and from there he was taken to the Inland cemetery, where he was laid to rest near his old home, where he had lived for years.

Mr. Agnew was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a good and true neighbor and a kind and loving husband and father.
