Word has been received of the death of Emil H. Andresen, 85, who died July 18, very unexpectedly, at Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.

Andresen was born Nov. 23, 1902 at Lowden. He married Mada Heiner, Lowden.

He was an educator in the Chicago school systems since the early 1920's. He received his master's degree from Northwestern University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He was chief radio and TV engineer for WBEC educational station in Chicago. He was greatly interested in the young students and judged at many science fairs.

He fulfilled his dream to retire to his home in Lowden in 1974. Andresen became a volunteer engineer for the Lowden City council and served on the Cemetery, Zoning and Adjustment boards. He belonged to the Lowden Historical society and was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden.

Family memorial services will be held at a later date.
