Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Pearl Bendon, 86, Clarence, were held at Olin, Oct. 17 with the Rev. Donald E. Kehrli officiating. Organist was Mrs. Kenneth Zimmerman. Pallbearers were Floyd Guhl, Laverne Guhl, Paul Hartwig, Paul Ketchum, Jim Cousins and Arlo McCormick. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Mrs. Bendon died at the Americana Nursing home, Cedar Rapids, Oct. 13.

Mrs. Bendon was born near Persia, Jan. 2, 1887, the daughter of Charles and Sarah Ann Holiday Lytle. She married Clarence Bendon, Jan. 10, 1911 at Neola. The family lived in and around Persia until 1948 when they moved to Clarence, and then to Olin until 1954 when Mr. Bendon died. She spent the last 19 years with her daughter in Clarence.

She was a member of the United Methodist church in Clarence.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ferman (Edna) Allman, Clarence; 2 sons, Glenn, Olin and Joseph, Cedar Rapids; 9 grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Ditmar, Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Bendon was preceded in death by her husband, a son, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
