Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Margaret Harness, 84, were held at the United Methodist church, Mechanicsville Sept. 5 with the Rev. Aldreth Weigel officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were Darrell, Seward and Wayne Lerch, Michael and Larry Harness and Howard DeCamp. Jackie Siever was vocalist.

Mrs. Harness died at the Hallmark Nursing home, Mt. Vernon Sept. 1.

The daughter of Robert G. and Sarah Jane Brewster Wickersham, she was born at Defiance June 9, 1899 and was married to John Harness at Defiance Oct. 29, 1907. She lived in the Mechanicsville area most of her life. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Polyannas of the church.

She is survived by 2 sons, William, Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Charles, Mechanicsville; 2 daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Bernice) Lerch, Martelle and Mrs. Zella Crosby, El Cajon, Calif.; a brother, James Wickersham, Irwin, 16 grandchildren and 35 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and 3 sisters.
