Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Marshall W. Young were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Horner Funeral home. The Rev. Aldreth V. Weigel officiated at the service.

Ralph Yule, Joseph Gamble, Albert Biedenbach, Carl Moir, Harry Jackson and Phillip Ward were pallbearers with burial in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Young died early Sunday morning in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Marshall William Young was born Dec. 24, 1906, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William (Blanche) Young. He was married to Esther Root on April 27, 1935. He spent most of his life in the Mechanicsville community. He operated a service station and drove a bus for the Mechanicsville school for more than 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Young lived in Cedar Rapids for 7 years. They moved into Pioneer Terrace when it was completed.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, brother, Harlan R. and sister, Velma Young. Also a nephew, Harlan William and 2 great nephews, Robert and Brad.

A brother, DeVere, and his parents preceded him in death.
