Wilbur Ambrose Shaffer of Springville, Iowa, was born on a farm near Lowden on September 6,1880 to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Shaffer. He died at his home in Springville on Sunday, February 10, 1963 after having attained the age of 82 years, 5 months and 4 days.

He was married to Carrie Rogers at Clarence on January 6th, 1904. To this union four children were born: Ellsworth Theodore, Myrtle Irene, Jennette Elizabeth and Herbert Ellsworth.

He was preceded in death by two children, Ellsworth Theodore and Myrtle Irene, also a sister Minnie Leggett of Anamosa and a brother Norman of Lowden.

He is survived by his wife Carrie of Springville, a daughter Jennette Parker of Martelle and a son Herbert of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Elsie Hammond of Marion and Maude Beatt of California, also by eleven nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and two great grand children.

Interment was made in the Dayton Valley Cemetery north of Clarence on Tuesday, February 12, 1963.
