24 July 1952 - The Tipton Advertiser

Jennie Thrailkill Williams was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, April 7, 1870, and passed away at the home of her daughter Saturday July 19, at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 12 days. She was the daughter of John Allen and Nancy Thrailkill and was one of the family of seven children, all of whom have passed except one brother, John Allen Thrailkill, of Aurora, Nebraska.

She was united in marriage to Lorenzo D. Williams in 1886. To this union three children were born, Ward and Clare Williams and Blanche Lambach, all of Tipton.

Her parents passed away when she was 6 years of age and she came to make her home with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Knott of Tipton, and has since made her home here except for a few years spent in Davenport where she assisted in rearing the four boys of C. A. Sampson. They have always shown her the respect and thoughtfulness due a mother.

She was a good mother and friend and spent most her of her time in her home which for the last 25 years has been spent in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Lambach. Her greatest happiness was in doing things for others.

Besides her three children and one brother she is survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews, a host of friends and neighbors. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held at the Sheets funeral home July 22, 1952, with Rev. H. N. Poston officiating and burial in Tipton Masonic cemetery.

The pallbearers were her grandsons and the four Sampson boys.
