Funeral services for Glenn C. (Gus) Wallace, 62, Burlington and formerly of Clarence, were held June 25, 1988 at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Wallace died of respiratory illness June 22 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.

He was born June 24, 1925 in Rhodes and was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. He farmed near Clarence from 1950 to 1970 and then became a special assistant to the administrator of the U. S. Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C.

In 1974 he returned to Iowa to work for the National Republican committee. In 1976 he moved to Burlington, where he worked for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1987.

Mr. Wallace is survived by 2 daughters, Jane Ruch, Cedar Rapids and Jennifer Meyer, New York City; 4 sisters, Lorraine Beavers, Collins; Jeanne Frederick, Grundy Center; Joyce Finch, Des Moines and Betty Haas, Oelwein; a brother, Richard, Edina, Minn. and 2 grandchildren.
