George Henry Wohrer was born at Plano, Ill., Oct. 11, 1841. Died at Jefferson, Iowa, Dec. 1, 1918, age 77 years 1 month and 20 days. Came to Cedar county with his parents at the age of 12 years. He enlisted in the service of his country in 1860, serving until 1865. He was married to Susan E. Rollins May 30,1977, who died Feb. 17, 1888.

Mr. Wohrer spent most of his life in Cedar county until Nov., 1918, when he moved to Jefferson, Iowa, making his home with his daughter until the time of his death.

After brief services at the home by Rev. Lewis, the body was taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. A. J. Bixler at Clarence, Iowa, where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. G. Nies, with burial at Massillon by the side of his wife.

He leaves to mourn his death a son, L. D. Wohrer, and a daughter, Mrs. C. A. Robison, both of Jefferson; one sister, Mrs. A. J. Bixler of Clarence.

The out of town attendants at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Schneider, Tipton, G. M. Jeffrey and daughter, Vera, Cedar Rapids, W. B. Jeffrey, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bixler, Mr. and Mrs. Jay McCormick, Olin; Mrs. C. A. Robison and daughter, Maud, Marion.
