Mrs. Mary Weller passed away Friday, Sept. 26, at the Thurston Nursing Home in Tipton after an extended illness. The Rosary was recited at the Peterseim funeral home Sunday evening at 8 o'clock.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Peterseim Home with Father Collins, officiating, and interment was in St. Mary's cemetery. Mrs. Weller was born July 25, 1885, the daughter of James Cessford and Emma Cosgriff Cessford.

Immediate survivors include: daughters, Miss Bettie Weller and Mrs. Irene Slach of Tipton, and Mrs. Dorothy Kleppe of Olin; 2 sons, Harold of Des Moines and Forrest of Covina, Calif.; 2 brothers, John Cessford of Nevada, Iowa, and Lester; 2 sisters, Mrs. Clarence Crock of Mechanicsville and Mrs. Margaret Small of Springdale; and there are seven grandchildren.

Mary Katherine Cessford, daughter of James G. Cessford and Ellen Cosgriff Cessford, was born on a farm in Fairfield township, Cedar county, July 25, 1885.

On February 11, 1915, she was united in marriage to George C. Weller. To this union 3 daughters and two sons were born, Dorothy, Irene, Bettie, Forrest and Harold.

Mary was actively interested in many things, including several community organizations. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, the Rebekah lodge, the Woman's Relief corp and the Amvets Auxiliary. She was a good mother, a fine neighbor and a congenial friend.

Although she had been in ill health for several years she continued to live in her home in Tipton until one year and eight months ago when, because of failing health, she went to live at the nursing home. She passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1952, at the Thurston Nursing home at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 1 day.

She is survived by her husband, George Weller, three daughters, Bettie at home, Mrs. Edward Kleppe of Olin, Mrs. Floyd Slach of Tipton; two sons, Forrest of Covina, Calif., and Harold of Des Moines, and there are seven grandchildren, two brothers, John Cessford of Nevada, Iowa, and Lester; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Crock of Mechanicsville and Mrs. Margaret Small of Springdale. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Cessford, a brother Wiliam Earl in 1919, and a sister, Emma Genevieve Cessford in 1944.

The Rosary was recited at the Peterseim funeral home Sunday evening, Sept. 28.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, Sept. 29, at 2 o'clock at the Peterseim home with Father Collins officiating, and interment was in St. Mary's cemetery.
