Durant - Services for Mrs. Julius Wiese, 78, who died Friday in Mercy hospital, Davenport, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Durant chapel. The Rev. Henry Allen, St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiated. Burial in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Wiese, the former Doris Johannsen, had resided here the last 34 years. She was born Dec. 12, 1873, in Scott county and Feb. 17, 1894, was married to Mr. Wiese in Davenport. They farmed in Scott and Cedar counties until moving here. Mr. Wiese died in 1940.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Miller, Davenport, and Mrs. Chris Rudolph, Goose Lake; a son, Harry C., San Mareno, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Amelia Hass, Durant, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
