Final rites were held Monday, the 21st inst., at Wilson funeral home in Tipton for Charles Carl Titman, a well known resident of Tipton and Cedar county the past 35 years, whose death occurred Friday, May 18, at the home of Eugene Rhoads, near Mechanicsville. The Rev. Roscoe Sires, pastor of the First Methodist church of Tipton officiated, and interment was made in the Red Oak Grove cemetery.

Charles Carl Titman was born at Millville, Pennsylvania, August 16, 1877, and passed away May 19, 1945 at the home of Eugene Rhoads near Mechanicsville, Iowa. He was the son of Isaac and Elizabeth Titman, both of whom have preceded him in death.

He was married to Mary Ann Parker at Benton, Pennsylvania, on July 14, 1900. To this union were born five children, three of whom died in infancy in Pennsylvania. In 1910 Mr. Titman, his wife and two daughters, came to Cedar county, Ia. where they have made their homes since. His wife preceded him in death on August 24, 1932.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edith Reeve of Tipton, Iowa, and Mrs. Ellen Crock of Rock Island, Illinois, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two of the grandsons now serving in the Armed Forces--Private First Class Robert C. Reeve, paratrooper, at Fort Benning, Ga.; and Second Lt. Delbert D. Reeve who has been reported missing in action in Germany.

Mr. Titman is also survived by two brothers, and five sisters, as well as several nieces and nephews residing at Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

Two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Titman was a member of the Methodist church.
