Clarence - Funeral services for Essie Cashman Welliver, 73, were held June 23 in the Methodist Church with Rev. E. G. Steinman officiating. Mrs. Robert Joslin was the organist with Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen, soloist.

Henry Meyer, Arthur Robinson, Paul Hasselbusch Sr., Wilfred Pruess, William Mingst and Lester Kelly were pall bearers. Mrs. John Paul and Mrs. Howard Folk were in charge of flowers.

Essie Cashman Welliver, daughter of William and Susannah Ballou Gardner, was born July 6, 1890 at Clarence and passed away at her home in Clarence on June 20, 1964.

She was married to Roy Cashman on December 31, 1908. They were the parents of two children, Louella and Douglas. The first two years of her married life were spent farming near Ashton, S. Dakota. They returned to Cedar County where she lived most of the rest of her life.

Her husband, Roy, passed away July 28, 1955. On March 30, 1957 she was married to Hiram Welliver.

Survivors include her husband, Hiram; her daughter, Louella, Mrs. Chris Griem, Bennett and her son, Douglas, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, 2 sisters, Ethel Sechler and Margaret Welliver; a brother, William, and one grandchild.
