Mechanicsville - Funeral services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Merle O'Conner, 50, at 2:30 p.m. in the Mechanicsville Methodist Church. Rev. Beaty McDonald officiated at the service. Mrs. Lloyd Brown was vocalist accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Norris.

Mrs. O'Conner died in University Hospital, Iowa City, Dec. 13. She had been seriously ill the past several months.

Helen Loretta was born October 24, 1914 the daughter of Luther Van Dar Mark and Mary Julia Howe at Monticello. She was married to Merle O'Conner June 23, 1931 in Davenport.

Mrs. O'Conner has lived in the Mechanicsville community for the past 32 years and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include her husband, Merle, her mother, Mrs. Julia Walton, Tipton; a daughter, Mrs. Claude Oler and two grandsons, Lisbon.

She was preceeded in death by her father and a sister, Mrs. Leona Young.

Pierre Ferguson, Donald Jedlicka, Robert Kamerling, Dewey Bishop, Donald Kilt and Edward Henkel were pallbearers. Burial was in the Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.
