Clarence - Funeral services were held Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Jessie Deming, 93, Des Moines, at Chapman Funeral home with the Rev. Edward P. Engersoll, Des Moines, officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

Mrs. King Kelly and Richard Elijah sang accompanied by Mrs. Berniece Lapp, organist. Robert Elijah, Richard Elijah, Robert Kelly, Fred Bachman, J. E. Shriver and Ralph Rowser were pallbearers.

Mrs. Deming was born Oct. 24, 1871, the daughter of Allen and Anna Nicoll Elijah, at Clarence. She was married to Charlie Deming, Aug. 12, 1891, at Clarence. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Clarence Chapter 461 Eastern Star and a member of the Wednesday literary club when living at Clarence.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, a sister and 2 brothers.

Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Grace Hootman, Des Moines, Mrs. Margaret Sallady, Felton, Calif., and a son, Milo Deming, Falls Church, Va., 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
