Clarence - Funeral services were held Oct. 31 for Mrs. Gusta Hockman, 77, at St. John United Church of Christ with Dr. C. W. Ebbert officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery. Homer Burgess, J. C. Dettmann, R. C. Kastler, Walter Hartwig, Marvin Horn and Mearl Bixler were pallbearers. Mrs. R. C. Kastler and Mrs. Homer Burgess were in charge of the flowers.

Gusta Lund was born May 16, 1887 in Ostendorf, Germany, to Carl and Minnie Frubois Lund. She came to America with her parents at a young age. On May 12, 1920, she was married to Lloyd Hockman at Cedar Rapids. They farmed until his accidental death in 1949.

Mrs. Hockman was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary unit 286.

Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Anna Hoffner and 2 nephews, Kenneth Hoffner, LaGrange, Ill.; and Kenneth Lund.
