Funeral services for William Henry Goldsmith, 86, Clarence, were held Oct. 26 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with Dr. C. W. Ebert in charge.

Pallbearers were Hugo Rix, Chester Noble, Milton Behrens, George Meier, Wilbert Stolte and Leo Resewehr. A mixed quartet sang, accompanied by Sybil Klatt. Mrs. Chester Noble and Mrs. Wilbert Stolte were in charge of flowers. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Mr. Goldsmith died shortly after 11 a.m. Oct. 23 while sitting in his car near the city hall in Tipton. He had obtained his driver's license and, when he returned to his car, complained of feeling ill. He died a few minutes later.

The son of Henrich and Marie Kliefoth Goldsmith, he was born Nov. 9, 1878, and was married to Emma Horstmann Sept. 29, 1904, at Clarence.

They farmed in the Clarence area until his retirement.

The Goldsmiths celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

Mr. Goldsmith is survived by his wife, a son, Wilfred, Savannah, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Karl (Berniece) Schnipkoweit, Clarence; 4 grandchildren, a brother, Henry, Clarence, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Ibsen, Clarence.
