Mechanicsville - Funeral services were held today (Thurs.) at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian church for Mrs. Marie Phillips, 38, 265 25th Ave. S.W., Cedar Rapids. Pastor George Gallaher officiating at the service and Mrs. E. H. Littig was organist.

Mrs. Phillips died in a Cedar Rapids hospital Oct. 26 following a long illness.

Cora Marie Phillips was born August 28, 1926, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forest Shrope. She was a graduate of the Mechanicsville High School, attended the State University of Iowa and the Cedar Rapids Business College.

She was married to James Phillips, Nov. 10, 1949, in St. Paul's Methodist church. They lived in Cedar Rapids and she was a member of the United Presbyterian church there.

Survivors include her husband, James; a son, Jeffery Scott; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Shrope; and sisters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Tonne, Anamosa; and Mrs. Don (Jean) Davidson.

James Miller, John Miller, Calvin Robinson, Charles Fadness, Robert Fadness and Ralph Rauch were pallbearers.

Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery with Horner's Funeral Service in charge.
