Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. July 15 at the First United Church of Christ for Dr. Carlton Paul Christianson who died suddenly July 12 in Tipton. Dye Funeral home was in charge of arrangements and the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiated, with burial in Tipton Masonic cemetery.

He attended the University of Iowa at Iowa City and graduated from the College of Osteopathic Surgery and Medicine in Des Moines. He was married to Norma Hadley at Iowa Falls, Dec. 31, 1933 and had lived in Eagle Grove 3 years, Iowa City a year and Des Moines 8 years before moving to Tipton in September, 1946.

Dr. Christianson was a member of the Masonic lodge, Moose lodge, Lions club, Cedar county flying club, F.F.A, Medical examiner for Cedar county and several professional groups and organizations.

Survivors include his widow and 2 sons, Dr. Chester D. Christianson, Tipton and Larry G. Christianson, Davenport and 6 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Robert Dircks, Ed Hodler, V. R. Gough, William Jensen, Fred Edler and George Lemkau; honorary pallbearers were Carl Crispin and John Ahrens; Mrs. Arnold Swan, organist and Mrs. Ed Hodler, vocalist, Mrs. Wendell Willer, in charge of flowers.
