Herman Sebelien, Wilton business man and a former Cedar and Muscatine county farmer, died at Mercy hospital in Davenport at 4 a.m. Sunday, after an extended illness. The body was taken to the Frick funeral home in Durant where it remained until Tuesday. Funeral service was held at the Durant chapel at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Emerson Miller of Davenport officiated and interment was made in the Durant cemetery. Mr. Sebelien was born July 26, 1884 in Cedar county son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sebelien, and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. He married Lillian Pieret, at Davenport in 1933 and engaged in farming in Cedar county until the death of his wife in 1934. He moved to Wilton three years ago, where he had been engaged in business. He was a member of the Moose Lodge at Muscatine. Surviving are two brothers, Rudolph Sebelien of Stockton, and Ernst Sebelein, of Bennett; also a sister, Mrs. Annie Vollsen of Davenport. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
