Louise Strackbein was born on August 31st, 1865, two miles west of Lowden, she resided here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Strackbein Sr., until she was twenty-three years old. In 1888 she was married here at Lowden to George Strackbein of Woodbury county, Iowa, and right after, went with her husband to reside on their half section farm in Woodbury county, near Correctionville. At this her home, Mrs. Strackbein died last Wednesday, April 14th, of dropsy, at the age of forty-three years, four months and thirteen days, after having been sick about three months. Two of her children preceded her to the better world, having died in infancy, and her mother died here at Lowden a few years ago. There survive to mourn Mrs. Louise Strackbein's demise her husband, George Strackbein, and eight children, her father, George Strackbein Sr., two sisters and one brother, and many other near relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. George Strackbein's children range in age from four months to twenty years. The oldest is a boy, the oldest girl being thirteen years of age. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Strackbein, who returned home here to Lowden from the funeral this Wednesday, brought here with them the four-months old baby girl, Frieda, to keep charge of her, their little niece, during her infancy.

Their many relatives and friends in and near Lowden, join their friends, who reside distant from here, in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
