Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Pauline Pruess, 73, were held at the United Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville, Nov. 27 with the Rev. Donald Wooge officiating. Burial was in St. John's cemetery, Clarence.

Pallbearers were Joseph Pennington, Quentin Robinson, David Edwards, Harold Melchert, Victor Robinson and O. H. Curtis. Mrs. O. H. Curtis and Mrs. Casper Robinson were in charge of flowers. Mrs. E. H. Littig was organist and Mrs. Floyd Siver was vocalist.

Mrs. Pruess died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Nov. 24.

The daughter of Henry and Lena Albert Meier, she was born at Clarence, June 22, 1903 and was educated in the Clarence schools. She was married to Otto Pruess at Clarence, Nov. 17, 1921.

The Pruesses spent their lives in the Clarence and Mechanicsville area, farming south of Mechanicsville until 1953 when they moved to town. He operated a feed and seed business until 1969.

Mrs. Pruess was a member of the Mechanicsville United Presbyterian church and a charter member of the Clarence Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by 2 sons, Milford and LaVern, Mechanicsville, 6 grandchildren and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Arnold Meier and a grandson, Terry Pruess.
