Funeral services for Otto H. Pruess, 76, were held at 1:00 p.m. Nov. 5 at the United Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville, the Rev. Donald Wooge officiating. Burial was in St. John's cemetery, Clarence. Mr. Pruess died Nov. 2 at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Pallbearers were Ernest Von Behren, Gorman Robinson, Harold Melchert, Casper Robinson, O. H. Curtis and Joseph Penningroth. Mrs. Casper Robinson and Mrs. O. H. Curtis were in charge of flowers. Music was provided by Mrs. Floyd Siver, vocalist, and Mrs. E.H. Littig, organist.

Mr. Pruess was born Feb. 3, 1900 at Clarence, the son of Joe and Dora (Muller) Pruess. He was educated in a rural Clarence school. He married Emma Pauline Meier at Clarence Nov. 17, 1921. He farmed from 1921 to 1953 and was a feed and seed salesman from 1953-1969. He lived in the Clarence area from 1921 to 1934, and in the Mechanicsville area from 1934 to 1976.

Survivors include his wife, 2 sons, Milford and La Vern, both of Mechanicsville, and a brother, Alfred of Clarence; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
