Leonard H. Parr was born in Licking county, Ohio, on November 19, 1826; and he died at his home at Tipton, on Monday, April 20th, having been very feeble for several months. He was buried yesterday morning at 10 o'clock in the Masonic cemetery at Tipton. Mr. Parr leaves to mourn his demise his widow, one son, one daughter and several grandchildren and many other near relatives.

Deceased, who got to be over 81 years of age, came here from Ohio with his father, Wm. Parr, and family sometime in the fall of 1848, and settled near where now Lowden is located. Mr. Parr first took up and owned a farm 1/2 a mile north of Lowden long before this town was thought of breaking the sod on the same with ox teams, as also breaking land for several of his neighbors. Later Mr. Parr bought a farm near No. 9 school house in Springfield Tp. which he owned at time of his demise.

Having rented his land here, Mr. Parr and wife have of late years resided at Tipton.
