Funeral services for Burrel "Lou" Oberholser, 71, Clarence, were held Oct. 19 at the Clarence United Methodist church, the Rev. Tom Biatek officiating. Graveside military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 286, Clarence. Burial was in the Clarence Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dale Schroeder, Garen Paulsen, James Irons, Jerry Brook, Bob Knight and Kevin Lendt. Virginia Robinson was organist and the ladies' trio sang.

Mr. Oberholser died Oct. 16, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.

Mr. Oberholser was born Sept. 12, 1917 at Welton, the son of Dilman and Dora Irons Oberholser. He married Laura Butcher July 29, 1954 at Waterman, Ill.

Mr. Oberholser was a World War II army veteran, and a roller attendant at National Oats in Cedar Rapids for 25 years. He retired in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, Kerry, Jimmy and Tommy of Clarence and Danny of Iowa City; 3 grandchildren; one sister, Irene Oberholser of Coggon, and one brother, Louis of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and one brother.
